GFN FASHION MEET, SYDNEY

The Global Fashion Network (GFN) marked the 28th of September 2019 on their very busy calendar of year (AFL Final day) as the day they showcased their first fashion meet in Sydney. The fashion event proved to be an amazing networking opportunity, one that quenched the thirst of many fashionistas in the city not only with free flowing champagne 🥂 & red wine but with a smartly curated agenda that was both entertaining and informative.

It was my great privilege to be invited as a fashion & style blogger to witness this gorgeously organised event held at The Hilton in Sydney.

GFN #globalfashionnetwork believes in creating exciting opportunities for both newcomers & experienced talent in Fashion & Modelling. The Sydney Fashion Meet organised by GFN was an exclusive International platform for all Fashion professionals to connect, collaborate and grow together in domestic as well as International market.

GFN Team – PRAD Vats (Founder & CEO), Dimple Doshi (Director Modelling) & Reshy Lall (Director – Brands & Businesses)

The mastermind behind the Global Fashion Network is a thorough corporate professional, actor & model himself, Mr. PRAD VATS. Being the CEO & Founder of GFN, Prad conceived the idea of GFN platform to connect & collaborate in Fashion Industry and brought an array of talented fashion & beauty professionals together who I am sure enjoyed the night as much as I did.

Through his interesting visual presentation, PRAD displayed how GFN helps all fashion professionals, be it model, Fashion designers, stylists, brands and businesses to connect and collaborate to grow in domestic & International market. It was nice to see some very renowned names of Fashion Industry like Liza Varma (Former Femina Miss India & Celebrity Trainer), Designer Subarna Ray Chaudhuri and many more are connected and helping young talent & businesses in Industry.

One presentation that captured my interest was Reshy Lallʼs speech on how mental wellness is equally, in fact more important than physical beauty in the life of a model. Reshy is GFNʼs Director of Brands and Businesses. She is also a wellness mentor for models.

Fashion Designer Surjeet Bawa showcased her label – Coco by Bawaʼs latest collection in Indian ethnic wear.

The audience also absorbed some amazing tips & tricks from a Make-up tutorial and cosmetic presentation by Ferali, founder & owner of Ferali Cosmetics. Her water based vegan makeup range were an instant hit among the ladies in the audience.

The most entertaining and heart- warming part of the show was when ladies of all ages, shapes & ethnicity walked the ramp in absolute grace on the runway, sashaying in gorgeous outfits by Coco by Bawa.

Hats off to the youthful spirit and can-do attitude of all these beautiful models who posed before the judges and looked straight into the camera lens like a pro. But I must say, this took a few rounds to perfect the art behind the scene while training hard. All thanks to Dimple Doshi- GFN Director Modelling for showing them the art of ‘the walk.

Dimple Doshi is the third important leg of the GFN team. Director of modelling, one of her primary roles is to train new models. For this Fashion Meet she was also the show stopper. The Black & gold ensemble was an intelligent piece of craftwork that absolutely looked as if it was made just for Dimple.

Winning Models Christa, Ria & Kim with judges(Poonam Gaur & Ferial), Praveen, Dimple & Reshy.

A big thanks to Poonam Sumit Gaur, the chief jury at the show who invited me as a media partner to cover the event. Former Mrs. India 2017, Poonam is a woman of substance with uncountable talents, yet 100% humble with only kindness in her.

The way GFN organised the show, entertained the audience &presented their business plans, it definitely seems like Global Fashion Network is here to stay and together we shall celebrate fashion globally where models, designers & stylists can all explore their talents and be appreciated & rewarded.

GFN also introduced and gave platform to launch an very young talent Ahimsha, Fashion student from Melbourne to present her fashion design basics to the audience. Evening also had interesting presentation from Kalyani of Klassy Style Files and`dancingperformance by Kriti & soulful singing by gorgeous Padma Rao.

Later talks with Mr. Prad revealed that the team is planning some upcoming projects of GFN that include a fashion event in Melbourne and an international beauty pageant.

All the best to GFNʼs super trio- Prad, Dimple & Reshi and thanks for having me.
